Hi guys,
As the race will now be part of a 3 days stage race, see our stage race series section of the web site for more info. We will offer a more flexible race schedule that each racers can choose an option that suit their needs and fitness level. Therefore a 13km,21km,32km and finally a 58 km will be part of the different options available in 2010
Here are the changes to expect in 2010
No more 5km
The 13km will no longer go all the way to the summit but rather re enter the Vertigo trail immediately after reaching the intersection of the road and this trail. In fact we will add an aid station at that intersection so that the course will become a 13km instead of a 14km. We believe that this will eliminate the directional Chaos at the summit.
A REAL 21km. We will offer a real 21km for the 1/2 marathon runner. This course will be completely different than the 32km that we had in 2009. In fact it will be a combination of the 11km of courses en foret,
www.coursesenforet.com that takes place in Tremblant in September and the existing 10km. As such if you loved the water section that you did in 2009, you will have to sign up for the 32km since their is no water section on the 21km. This course will still be a har done. We do not expect anyone to be faster than 2.15H
32Km will actually remain exactly as last year except that it will no longer go up to the summit. When you will exit the single track, you will take a left just like in 2009 however you will use the same aid station as the 10km runner to re enter the woods via the vertigo trail. This will eliminate about 1 km of the course and avoid confusion on how to get back down the mountain
58km. This is an Ultra and a hard one.The course will be changed in 2010 in order to simplify logistic and avoid confusion.Only the super fit and advenutrous racers should consider doing this race.
1st change. The way down on the north side will be using the 4 Wheeler trail from Top to bottom as oppose to make it as fast as possible to the bottom.Yes it will be a bit longer.
2nd Change. We will no longer use the Grand Brule Trail to finish the race but rather the same course that all other races is using. Therefore your last time up the mountain will also avoid the summit. You will be turning back in the woods at the intersection of the road and the Vertigo trail. This is going to be a bit shorter. All in all the course will remain 58km but will be less confusing for the racers
